Biography

Professional Photo 2014Brian has been the Senior Pastor at Woodbury Community Church since June of 2008.  Prior to serving WCC,  Brian served as the Sr. High Pastor at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, MN for 7 years, First Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Illinois for 5 1/2 years, and Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, Virginia for almost 3 years.

Brian has been married to his best friend, Cyndi since 1991.  Brian and Cyndi have four children, Breanna, Christopher, Jeremy and Zachary. Brian loves his family deeply, and likes nothing more than being able to spend time with them.

Brian holds a Masters of Religious Education Degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries from Liberty University.  While in Illinois, Brian founded and served as the first President of the Alpha Omega Foundation. While at Wooddale Church, Brian launched an innovative program called Pizza and God Talk, which has been duplicated by churches all across the world, to get students talking about theology.  Brian is the author of four books available from the bookstore on this page.

When not at church you will probably find Brian hanging out with his family and friends.  He loves being on a wave runner, fishing, writing, reading, traveling, blogging, or playing video games with his kids. Growing up in the Chicago area, Brian became an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Living in Minnesota has made him a huge Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves fan.

Brian has a passion for missions and has led or participated in over two dozen mission trips to places like Russia, Israel, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Haiti, Mexico, Canada, Chicago, Rural North Carolina, Sarasota, Florida, Monterey  California, Washington D. C., Minneapolis/St. Paul, Hawaii, Romania, Germany, and many other places.

In addition to serving as a pastor, Brian is the Team Leader of the Northstar Church Multiplication Center. This is the Twin Cities church planting hub of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. The aim of the Northstar Church Multiplication Center is to see the Kingdom of God advancing in the Twin Cities by every church reproducing itself through the establishment of new churches dedicated to loving God, loving others, and making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Brian also served for seven years as a police and fire chaplain with the Eden Prairie, Minnesota Police and Fire Departments.
